Founder of Gulf Coast Breastfeeding Center

Stephanie Gable is a native of Mississippi.  She received her degree as a registered nurse (RN) in 1988.  In 2002, she received her certification as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) while working as a breastfeeding educator at Bush Naval Hospital, Twentynine Palms, CA.  She has dedicated the past three decades to caring for mothers and babies in both the clinic and hospital settings.

Stephanie has been a huge advocate for breastfeeding in Mississippi and along the Gulf Coast.  She has received both local and national recognition for her dedication to empowering mothers by assisting them to reach their personal breastfeeding goals.  Stephanie has used local media to educate the Gulf Coast community on the benefits of mothers' milk including donor milk for premature/sick infants.  She has also educated over 300 MS Gulf Coast nurses on the basics of breastfeeding, greatly increasing the success rates of nursing mothers across the Gulf Coast. In fact, one local hospital saw exclusive breastfeeding rates soar from 1% to over 70% after the majority of nursing staff attended her classes.

Stephanie is married to Jeff and they have three adult children.  The challenges she experienced while breastfeeding her own children allow her to be empathetic to women challenged during their own personal breastfeeding struggles.  She knows first-hand how limited resources and lack of knowledgeable support can derail the best of breastfeeding intentions.  She uses this knowledge to fuel her passion to see mothers overcome challenges and meet and/or exceed their goals.
